Boccia was developed primarily for people with cerebral palsy, and since it was first introduced, it has become very popular throughout the UK in both Special Olympics and non-Special Olympics circles, however within Special Olympics internationally, it is Bocce which can lead athletes to European and worldwide competition.
Bocce is here in GB for all of us; It is easy to play, easy to learn and easy to qualify as a coach in this fun, developing sport. It offers opportunities for all levels of ability - no-one is excluded.
Bocce is played in a court/frame and on a surface that is usually carpeted, but to start developing a feel for the game it can be played without these constraints. Obviously. competition would require these elements.
